The U.S. dollar weakened through January before staging a recovery in the beginning of this month, a recovery that is still underway and which still looks shaky. Generally, when one currency weakens, other currencies against which it is traded tend to look stronger. But the rupee weakened even further at about the same time that the dollar was showing weakness. Why is that?
