New PAN card application rules from April 1; these documents become mandatory

Starting April 1, 2026, applying for or updating a PAN card will require additional documents beyond Aadhaar, such as birth certificates or voter IDs. New application forms will also be introduced, and PAN card names will strictly match Aadhaar details. Furthermore, PAN quoting thresholds for property, vehicle purchases, and hotel payments are being revised.
