Ancient grain storage tradition fading fast in Srikakulam district

The ancestral practice known as Khoni or Paathara was once observed by farmers along the banks of the Mahendratanaya River. Several factors—including lack of space and awareness, as well as changes in rural architecture—have contributed to its decline.
